Alfred Summerhayes was a Nanaimo building contractor who was a member of Ashlar Lodge, No.3.
At present we do not know a lot about him but we will do more research and post what we find.
We do know that he built the Occidental Hotel, 432 Fitzwilliam Street, Nanaimo in 1886 from plans drawn up by Victoria architect John Teague, a member of Victoria-Columbia Logde, No.1.
